Ballerina: the John Wick spin-off reveals an explosive making-of

A new film from the universe of John Wick will arrive in theaters in 2025. This time worn by Ana de Armas (Dying can wait), the feature film takes place in parallel with the events of John Wick: Parabellumthe third installment of the franchise starring Keanu Reeves, and follows the organization's new assassin recruit Ruska Roma.

On the occasion of the recent Brazilian Comic-Con, Lionsgate lifted the veil on a making-of video of Ballerina which gives a new insight into this next chapter of the saga.

Not a female John Wick

The video below shows footage from the film which will be released in French cinemas on June 4, 2025, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the intense action scenes De Armas had to prepare for.

“When I was offered the role, it was very exciting,” can we also hear the actress say. “To be honest, I’m surprised I came out in one piece.”

Eve Macarro, the dancer she plays in Len Wiseman's feature film, indeed has many adversaries to face in Ballerinaas the film follows the young woman as she begins to train in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma organization and sets out on a vengeful quest against those responsible for her father's death.

But if his journey seems similar to that of John Wick, the director of the film specifies that Ballerina “is not a female version of John Wick. It is the story of Eve's beginnings in this world.”

The feature film also stars Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead)Gabriel Byrne (Vikings) and Catalina Sandino Moreno (From), as well as Anjelica Huston, Lance Reddick, Ian McShane and Keanu Reeves, who reprise their roles previously in the franchise John Wick.

In addition to this film, the saga John Wick which generated more than a billion dollars in revenue, still has a bright future ahead of it with another feature film in preparation, this one focused on Caine, the blind assassin played by Donnie Yen, as well as the development of an animated film and the series John Wick: Under the High Table.
