WhatsApp: you will never forget your pending messages again thanks to this new function
How many times have you seen a WhatsApp notification, but not acted on it instantly? You then hide the notification and then as time passes, you simply forget to respond. With this new feature, WhatsApp intends to correct this problem, by notifying you when a message is waiting for your reply shortly. The feature, introduced a little over a month ago, only affected user status changes. Now it also includes messages.
An alert to remind you that you need to reply to a message
Accessible from build v2.24.25.29 of WhatsApp from Android, the functionality was spotted by the genre specialist: WaBetaInfo. But then, how does it work on a daily basis? By accessing your smartphone notifications, WhatsApp can now send you an alert to let you know that a message or status update is still waiting for your intervention, even if you have already viewed the message in the past.
In other words, through this function, WhatsApp reminds you that you have not responded to the last message from your family, your friends, or even your work. At the moment, little additional information is known about this function: for example, we do not know the frequency of notifications sent. On the other hand, the application does not specify which messages would be prioritized over others to initiate a notification to the user. According to WaBetaInfo, all of this should be handled by an algorithm based on previous discussions. Note that this function is not new: Google has been able to launch a similar style of alerts for Gmail and Google Messages since 2018.
