Leapmotor T03: this electric car costs 4,000 euros less than a Dacia Spring
Leapmotor, a Chinese manufacturer distributed by Stellantis, struck a major blow by announcing the eligibility of its T03 to the ecological bonus. Launched with an introductory offer of €18,900 (including a €600 discount), the same price as a Dacia Springits price should thus fall to €14,900 with bonus deducted. However, ADEME has still not formalized the eligibility of the T03 for this state aid, the amount of which has also been revised downwards, now between 2000 and 4000 € according to income.
Until then, Leapmotor continued to announce a price of €14,900 for its city car, but subject to eligibility for the bonus. In the event that the T03 was ultimately not eligible, the customer would have had to choose between canceling their order, or maintaining it with a considerably higher final score. From now on, Leapmotor has revised its policy and guarantees a price of €14,900 whatever the decision of ADEME and regardless of the income of its customers.
“Whether or not the vehicle is ultimately eligible for the ecological bonus and whatever the actual amount of the ecological bonus you benefit from (from €2,000 to €4,000 depending on income), Leapmotor will grant you, where applicable, a customer discount of an amount allowing you to benefit in total from the equivalent of an ecological bonus of €4,000”we can read on the manufacturer's website.
A good deal among electrics, and not only that!
The T03 therefore costs €4,000 less than a Dacia Spring, while being significantly better equipped. It thus receives a useful 36 kWh battery which gives it a range of 265 km in the WLTP mixed cycle, while the Spring is satisfied with a 225 km range. The T03 is also more powerful, thanks to its 70 kW (95 hp) engine, compared to only 48 kW (65 hp) at Dacia, and offers direct current charging of up to 48 kW as standard.
Finally, Stellantis has chosen to simplify the T03 range for its arrival in Europe. The standard equipment is therefore very complete, with among other things 15-inch alloy wheels, a 10.1-inch central touch screen, unfortunately incompatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-inch screen behind the steering wheel, the camera reversing, automatic air conditioning, four electric windows and even a panoramic roof.
Even in thermal, we do not find such a good equipment/price ratio. It's quite simple, only the Dacia Sandero is cheaper, from €12,490 (excluding €100 penalty), then equipped with a small 67 hp gasoline engine.
