Announced in February, Sora remained accessible only to a privileged few for a long time.. But this Monday, December 9, OpenAI finally decided to formalize its launch to the general public. As a reminder, Sora is OpenAI’s text-to-video artificial intelligence model. In other words, thanks to Sora, it is possible to create small videos from scratch that are based solely on a textual query.

Sora is available everywhere (except here)

Its use is simple: in addition to creating videos simply from text, Sora also allows the user to integrate their own image with artificial intelligence in order to create a video based on this fixed rendering . Once you have a video corresponding more or less to what you were looking for, you can then use the editing functions provided in Sora (it is possible to modify the requests, cut the video in certain places, or even create a more long video by combining several small ones… etc).

Based on the feedback received during the various preview versions, Sora has been available to everyone since yesterday. But take “all” with a grain of salt. Indeed, for now, Sora is available everywhere, except in China, Europe and the United Kingdom. In addition, it is necessary to have a ChatGPT Pro or Plus subscription. As a reminder, the ChatGPT Pro subscription was announced a few days agoand is available for around $200 per month.
