These 8 laptops are at the top of December sales… And yet you shouldn't buy them! We explain why – LaptopSpirit
Somewhat unusual article today since for once we are not necessarily going to advise you to buy one of the laptops highlighted. Explanations.
In search of the latest new releases, we decided to take a look at the “top sellers” of certain merchants. And we were surprised… Why? Because while some models actually offer a good price/equipment ratio which justifies their success, others, however, are far from being the best in their price bracket. Decryption.
Laptops to buy:
15″ TN 1920 * 1080 (Full HD), Ryzen 5 5500U, AMD Radeon Vega 7, 256 GB SSD, 1.7 Kg
The very definition of a cheap laptop. A configuration nevertheless sufficient for office / web / video playback and other light tasks. A regret? Its TN screen but at less than 400 euros, we readily forgive it.
At less than €400, this HP laptop PC is indeed among the best in its category. The configuration is interesting even if at equivalent price, theAcer Aspire 3 A315-44P-R1NV offers more storage space.
15″ IPS 1920 * 1080 (Full HD), Ryzen 5 7520U, AMD Radeon 610M, 500 GB SSD, 1.6 Kg
Interesting cheap laptop PC, theHP 15-fc0071nf benefits from a good amount of 16 GB RAM and an AMD Quad Core Ryzen 5 7520U Mendocino processor to provide good performance in everyday use. Featuring a 15-inch IPS Full HD anti-glare screen, this Windows 11 laptop benefits from fast 512 GB SSD storage…
Same observation for this model, the price offered with regard to the on-board configuration is good. Alternatively, only this Asus Vivobook Go manages to compete. And even pushing the budget up to €500, in this second week of December, nothing more interesting to offer except the Lenovo below which will be able to stand out thanks to its bag and mouse provided.
15″ IPS 1920 * 1080 (Full HD), Ryzen 5 5500U, AMD Radeon Vega 7, 500 GB SSD, 1.6 Kg
A powerful processor, a Full HD IPS screen, comfortable storage space without forgetting 8 GB of RAM, all for less than €450! What more could you ask for? We are looking for…
17″ IPS 1920 * 1080 (Full HD), Ryzen 5 5500U, AMD Radeon Vega 7, 500 GB SSD, 2.4 Kg
Enjoying the comfort of a 17-inch screen without breaking the bank is possible with this HP 17-cp0012nf. Priced at less than €500, it also displays an attractive configuration with its Full HD IPS screen, its Ryzen 5, its 16 GB of RAM and its 500 GB SSD.
A good deal for office/web use.
No debate either for this HP. 17-inch laptops are becoming rarer and are not significantly more expensive most of the time. The configuration is certainly not very recent but with 16 GB of RAM, a decent processor and a Full HD screen, at less than 500 euros, this constitutes an excellent deal. The alternative? THE Honor MagicBook. Still unbeatable but sold 50€ more expensive (largely justified given the qualities of this model).
15″ IPS 1920 * 1080 (Full HD), Ryzen 5 5600H, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050, 500 GB SSD, 2.3 Kg
To play without breaking the bank, this HP Victus Gaming is one of the good students of the moment. Of course, it is sold without Windows but at less than 600 euros it is difficult to hope for better on this point.
Cheap gaming laptops can be counted on the fingers of one hand during this period. This HP Victus Gaming is therefore one of the rare models that will allow you to play, accepting concessions obviously, for less than €600. Fromother alternatives exist, notably from Asus at the same price. With a small budget margin, it is better to opt for theAcer Nitro V 15 ANV15-41-R85W equipped with a GeForce RTX 4050.
Laptops to avoid:
15″ TN 1920 * 1080 (Full HD), Core i5-1235U, Intel Iris Xe, 500 GB SSD, 1.7 Kg
Cheap laptop PC,HP 15s-fq5023nf which benefits from a good amount of 16 GB RAM and an Intel Alder Lake Core i5-1235U hybrid processor with Iris Xe graphics, performs well in everyday use, modest gaming and content multimedia work. This Ultrabook with an elegant silver design that runs Windows 11 and whose reactivity…
If overall the configuration is consistent, at €549, the absence of an IPS screen becomes prohibitive. It is therefore better to opt for the Honor MagicBook or to stay with Asus, the VivoBook S15 S1504FA-L11098W equipped with an OLED screen for the same price.
15″ TN 1920 * 1080 (Full HD), Ryzen 7 5800H, AMD Radeon Vega 8, 1 TB SSD, 1.7 Kg
Need a large storage capacity? A fast 1TB SSD is built into theAsus VivoBook 15 R1502QA-EJ171Winexpensive laptop PC which thus reinforces the responsiveness. This thin and light Windows 11 silver laptop…
Similar problem here. The presence of a TN screen with more random colorimetry reduces the appeal of this Asus even if its powerful processor and its 1 TB SSD allow it to stand out from its competitors. If CPU power is important to you, we would therefore tend to recommend the Honor MagicBook. If it's the storage space that catches your eye, opt for one of these models.
14″ TN 1920 * 1080 (Full HD), Core i5-1235U, Intel Iris Xe, 500 GB SSD, 1.4 Kg
An affordable ultrabook with a balanced configuration. It's a shame that the screen is a TN model with less efficient colorimetry than the IPS panels common in this price range.
Once again, the problem with this model lies in its TN panel. It is therefore better to opt for the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 14IAH850 euros cheaper and offered in a pack with bag and mouse provided!
