The EKRUZER#1 electric scooter mixes video games and gentle mobility
Even without necessarily being specialized in a field, we can sense that an idea is a bad idea as soon as it is presented: dissolving the National Assembly, smoking in a fireworks factory, putting a match point in the final of the World Cup to Randall Kolo Muani… We are therefore surprised that the concept of the EKRUZER#1 electric scooter has managed to reach the end of its development. Because what the Australian company offers us is nothing more and nothing less than “the first gaming platform on wheels in the world” according to the press release.
To have fun while moving, EKRUZER has designed this scooter with a retro-futuristic look that would not be out of place in a game of Cyberpunk 77. Powered by two motors with a power of 1.5 kW each (or 3 kW in total), it would be capable of reaching 60 km/h. And side hardwarethe manufacturer promises a touchscreen tablet with a screen measuring 7 inches diagonally. Inside, a Snapdragon 865 chip should run applications compatible with Android 12. For your information, since this fall, we have moved to Android 15.
In addition to the usual USB A and C ports, there are front and rear cameras, a Bluetooth, 3G and 5G connection, a microphone, speakers and GPS. Finally, because it is always very funny to go pee-pee while driving at full blast with the bells on and avoiding pedestrians, cars, street furniture and doors that open suddenly, the EKRUZER#1 accommodates modules laser to shoot each other, like in laser tag rooms. Small clarification, for the moment, no game has been revealed, using the laser or not.
A dissuasive price
On paper, the idea is not very brilliant; electric scooters are dangerous enough without the need to further distract users with a video game, especially given the speed of this particular model. Fortunately, the EKRUZER#1 does not only shine through the unconsciousness of its concept since its price also reaches new heights; in fact, you have to part with US$13,000 (a little less than €13,500, almost the price of certain new cars) to fool around with this machine. Small relief all the same, only 250 copies were produced…
