The end of the year sees a rush of rumors surrounding Apple's projects. Although there is no longer much doubt that the first quarter will welcome a new iPhone SEand if the identikit of theiPhone 17 Airexpected in the fall of 2025, is starting to take shape clearly, it is a device of another kind that Bloomberg is talking about.

According to the essential Mark Gurman, who officiates on Bloomberg and in its newsletter Power OnApple is working on an iPad with a folding screen. According to its information, Apple is working on prototypes of very very large tablets – 18.8 inches according to the journalists – therefore located halfway between the usual iPads and MacBooks. In addition to this diagonal, he understands that the device would take the form of two iPads side by side, at the fold “almost invisible”. In other words, this folding iPad would be the equivalent of a dual-screen laptop, a bit like what machines such as the ZenBook Duo at Asus. However, we do not know the operating system used on the device: it could be either iPadOS or MacOS; Gurman believes that the machine would borrow from both universes.

No need, however, to take out the popcorns: Apple does not plan to release such an iPad before 2026, or even 2027. Suffice to say that it is likely that before offering a folding iPad, Cupertino will launch its first folding iPhone. This one, according to the indiderswould be expected by 2026, at least seven years after the first terminal of its kind from Samsung.
