At the end of 2024, Chinese manufacturers are betting everything on autonomy. While the charging powers are now more than under control, it is the batteries which are now the new area of improvement, with in particular capacities of 6,000 mAh. We are also talking about 7,000 mAh for the future Realme Neo 7, successor to the GT Neo 6.

For its part, Xiaomi has marketed a first model in China with a 6,000 mAh battery: the Redmi K80 Pro. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra should also play the game, with a similar battery capacity. This data was in fact recently confirmed by a renowned leaker on Weibo: Digital Chat Station.

Good news in itself, given that the rumors until now were based on a capacity between 5450 and 5800 mAh. The 6,000 mAh would thus be a nice evolution compared to the Xiaomi 14 Ultralimited to only 5,000 mAh. However, it would fall short of its little brother, the Xiaomi 15 Pro, with its 6,100 mAh battery.

In terms of fast charging, the leaker emphasizes that the power would remain limited to 90 W on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. For the rest of the technical sheet, he explains that his predictions remained the same.

The last minute change for the battery remains quite logical according to a previous statement from Digital Chat Station. Earlier in the month, he shared that some readjustments were still necessary, thus postponing the release date from January 2025 until later.

The announcement of the smartphone during MWC 2025 therefore seems more than likely. Indeed, the European smartphone event is usually held at the end of February, which would be perfect timing for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
