Until now, Polti was confined to our floor cleaner section. The Italian manufacturer is in fact specialized in surface maintenance, but it has just added a string to its bow by presenting two coffee makers, products ultimately not that far from its habits. Indeed, in either case, it is essential to raise the water temperature quickly and provide sufficient pressure.
The S18 benefits from the manufacturer's know-how: this coffee machine uses ESE pods (Easy Serving Expresso) which, as their name suggests, is used to prepare espressos. And to be sure that it is prepared according to the rules of the art, the S18 can develop a maximum pressure of 19 bars. Let us point out that according to experts, a pressure of 9 bars is more than enough. The water tank should allow you to prepare around twenty 40 ml espressos since it reaches a volume of 850 ml. The control panel seems very simple since it only consists of two buttons: one for short drinks and the other for long drinks.
The G50S, for its part, is a semi-automatic machine: it grinds the coffee beans contained in the tank. On the other hand, it is up to the user to pack the powder into the percolator. Please note, Polti did not consider it necessary to equip its model with a tamper automatic, like that of the Sage Oracle Touch and it will therefore be necessary to carry out the operation with a manual stamp, which is not necessarily easy. We nevertheless find the needle pressure gauge, so vintage and the steam distribution nozzle which fans of Latte Art will no longer be able to do without.
The S18 pod coffee maker, like the G50S semi-automatic, are already available. You will have to shed €120 to acquire the first and €579 to afford the second.
