At Lenovo, the leaks are Legion: after the first visuals of the Lenovo Legion S, it is another iteration of the same model of the new generation of hybrid portable console which is found leaking on the web. It is to the famous leaker Evan Blass that we owe this find posted on the social network additional buttons on the front panel.

While awaiting the officialization of the Taiwanese manufacturer, the presence of the Steam logo already allows us to envisage the arrival of a model embedding the SteamOS operating system, present in Valve's Steam Deck console. Indeed, on the first Legion Go – and the first leaks of the white Legion Go S – the button in question is accompanied by the logo of the range and assigns a shortcut to the Legion Space in-house software overlay on top of Windows 11. In all Logically, a “Steam” button would open the SteamOS menu.

Valve has been talking about exporting SteamOS to other portable consoles on the market for a few months now – and the initiative seems more relevant than ever. Last week, a specifications on the use of the brand Steam has unveiled a new label “Powered by SteamOS”, probably intended for third-party machines which would embed the operating system – and Lenovo could well start the ball in the coming weeks.

We will have to wait until CES 2025 at the beginning of next January to find out for sure. But one thing is certain: the arrival of SteamOS as a standard software solution on the portable console market would be very good news. If the machines from Asus and Lenovo do not lack power, their comfort of use does not match that of the Steam Deck, supported by its intuitive operating system – light years away from Windows, far from being designed for nomadic gaming.

The leaks don't stop at the Legion S. Evan Blass also revealed a new, larger model of the Legion Go – potentially the flagship model of the next generation. Larger, it would have an OLED screen and detachable joysticks on the right controller, for more pleasant handling in “FPS” mode, one of the flagship features of the console explained in our test. No Steam logo though – SteamOS will probably be exclusive to certain Legion Go models.
