Zeekr 7X: this SUV wants to take the place of the Tesla Model Y in Europe
The Chinese manufacturer Zeekr is already present in a few European markets and is developing little by little, with an arrival planned in France in the first months of 2025. The range will include the already known Zeekr Smart #1 and the Volvo EX30, and the sedan 001. They will be joined by this new (for us) 7X.
A well-known base
Zeekr is a brand of the giant Chinese group Geely, owner of brands such as Volvo, Polestar, Lotus and Lynk&Co.
The 7X SUV will share its SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) electric platform with the latter and will offer two battery capacities: an LFP of 75 kWh and an NMC of 100 kWh, allowing respectively 480 and 615 km.
These batteries will power either a standard single rear-wheel drive version with 422 hp, or a dual motor variant for a cumulative output of 646 hp.
The model stands out from the competition by its phenomenal charging power thanks to its 800V architecture, which cannot be used in Europe immediately. Indeed, the SUV displays up to 480 kW in fast charging, but terminals offering this much power are still very rare on the Old Continent. Zeekr then prefers to talk about charging times on 360 kW terminals: 13 and 16 minutes depending on the battery pack, simply among the fastest in the world.
An already well-filled segment
With its 4.82 m long, 1.93 m wide and 1.66 m high, the Zeekr 7X will compete with the Tesla Model Y, the Peugeot e-5008 and even theAudi Q6 e-tron. Like the latter, it aims to be more high-end.
Aesthetically, the model is quite sober and comes with the brand's new stylistic language for the front with the “Stargate” LED front panel. The rear is just as simple, with a full-width LED light bar and black bumper.
Thanks to its wheelbase of 2.93 m, the 7X promises plenty of space on board for all five passengers, in addition to a generous 539-liter trunk to which is added a 66-liter front trunk (frunk).
The dashboard is fashionable, relatively sober with a huge 16-inch touch screen for infotainment, digital instrumentation and an augmented reality head-up display.
Under the huge screen is a dual inductive charger and a floating center console. Finally, for passenger comfort, the model will be offered with air suspension, while a LiDAR sensor can be chosen as an option for advanced autonomous driving.
