17Cyber: a platform to guide victims of cyber delinquency
Faced with the explosion of cyberattacks, France has launched a new platform aimed at helping victims of web scammers. Baptized 17Cyberin reference to the national Police Rescue number, the website provides practical advice adapted to each situation and is equipped with various features inherent to the sector.
An online tool to diagnose a suspected scam
17Cyber offers an online diagnostic tool allowing any individual who is not comfortable with computers to identify the problem they are facing. More concretely, through selected answers to the questions asked, the 17Cyber tool is able to determine the nature of the cyber malware that has occurred and to propose appropriate solutions. Among them, the Internet user could be put in contact by online chat with a peacekeeper or be directed to an IT service provider able to resolve their problem.
Depending on the incident encountered, 17Cyber can also offer to report it on the appropriate platform, such as Pharos, to name but a few. 17Cyber is capable of handling many types of cyber scams.
