Sharing is the whole principle of messaging applications. Meta also continues to perfect one of its solutions: WhatsApp. After some improvements during the end-of-year holidays playing on audio and video callsthe application is preparing to facilitate document sharing.

Indeed, Clubic shared on December 26, 2024 that a function allowing scans was now available on WhatsApp. It is no longer necessary to use a third-party application to correctly scan a paper document.

The French media explains that this new feature can be found in the document sharing menu. By opening it under iOS, we discover the “Scan document” option below the traditional “Select Files” and “Select a photo or video”.

To make scanning a document easier, WhatsApp Unsurprisingly, it integrates a scanning system that automatically detects borders. Clubic mentions in passing the possibility of opting for different color modes, modifying the margins or even rotating the images.

The opportunity for users to have all the tools in their hands to scan documents as best as possible, while modifying them before sending them.
