THE OPINEL KNIFE – Passed down from generation to generation, the No. 10 is used for outdoor activities, but also for more arduous work such as pruning branches and working with dense materials.
THE YATAGAN BLADE – The traditional blade of OPINEL folding knives is the Yatagan blade. Its shape is inspired by a Turkish saber, with a raised tip. This OPINEL blade is ground to an exclusive domed profile which guarantees the robustness of the blade and allows efficient re-sharpening.
STAINLESS BLADE – Sandvik's modified 12C27 stainless steel developed for OPINEL stainless steel knives is renowned for its ease of maintenance. It allows us to obtain a quality edge, without our knives being susceptible to corrosion.
OPINEL KNOW-HOW – Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring equips our closing pocket knives from No. 06 to No. 12. Thanks to this rotating ferrule, in addition to locking the blade in the open position, it is now possible to lock the blade in the closed position.
A BEECH WOOD KNIFE – Beech is the wood most used for manufacturing OPINEL handles. Coming from French farms, it is hard, resistant and easy to work. The handle of this knife is varnished to be better protected against humidity and dirt.
