The story begins in the 18th century, somewhere on the shores of the English coast. This is where Jim Hawkins and his mother have run the Admiral Benbow inn alone since their father and husband died, swept away in the sinking of his boat. One night, as they are about to close the inn, a strange character who wants to be called Captain comes to rent a room. As the days pass, Jim becomes somewhat intrigued by the latter's trunk. Indeed, the Captain pays particular attention to the fact that no one touches it, and our young hero wonders if they are not dealing with a pirate.
