When we tell you that AI is everywhere, it's not an exaggeration. In 2025, Samsung will include it in its new generation of refrigerators. Marketed during the year at a still unknown price, this model shown for the first time at CES promises to “transform our daily lives and usher in a new generation of intelligent household appliances”. Let's see how.

Hybrid operation and AI

Equipped with an improved compressor — it runs longer while consuming less — and a Peltier module, a “semiconductor device that cools food by exploiting the temperature change of electric current flow”this new generation works in a hybrid manner.

The module is only activated at the same time as the compressor when a need for strong cooling is detected or anticipated, thus making it possible to optimize consumption. Storage is also increased by 25 l (up to 900 l) without increasing the size of the refrigerator, thanks in particular to the Peltier module, which takes up less space than the elements it replaces.

“Since refrigerators operate 24 hours a day, we have developed a cooling system that significantly boosts energy efficiency for users”said Jeong Seung Moon, executive vice president and head of the R&D team for the Digital Appliances division of Samsung Electronics.

Better consumption and conservation

Called AI Hybrid Cooling, this system also uses artificial intelligence to detect the state of the device, but also to predict temperature changes to correctly adjust the cooling mode. Samsung also promises prolonged food freshness with Hybrid Precise Cooling, a feature that reduces internal temperature fluctuations. As an example, the manufacturer explains that its tests show that foods such as pork and salmon can be kept up to 1.4 times longer with this system activated.
