LG Gram 2025: new ultraportable PCs announced on the sidelines of CES in Las Vegas
CES 2025 is fast approaching, and manufacturers are already starting to announce their new products. This is particularly the case of LG which took the time in this first week of the year to lift the veil on new ultraportable PCs for its Gram range.
LG Gram Pro 17, 16 and 16 2-in1
We like with the new LG Gram Pro 17, now benefiting from Intel Arrow Lake-H processors in Core Ultra 5 and Ultra 7 and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 graphics card. Always in the game of lightness and finesse, this range of computers reaches a featherweight of 1.479 kg for a thickness of 1.58 cm. For the display, the Oled is still not there, thus limiting itself to a 17-inch IPS LCD panel with QHD+ definition and a refresh rate of 31-144 Hz. The autonomy is ensured by a substantial 90 Wh battery.
The LG Gram Pro 16 has a display with similar characteristics, with one exception: the screen diagonal, falling to 16 inches. It then runs on Lunar Lake chips (Core Ultra 5, 7 and 9), while being powered by a 77 Wh battery. In terms of size, we drop to 1.239 kg and 1.28 centimeters thick, making it an even more compact ultraportable.
The 16-inch LG Gram Pro 2-in-1 also gets a makeover with Intel Arrow Lake-H processors (Core 5 or Core 7). A little thicker (1.29 cm), it gains in weight with a weight of 1.399 kg due to its heat dissipation system, also present on the Gram Pro 17. The display is still of better quality, given that an option allows you to benefit from an Oled screen, with a 2.8K definition and a display frequency of 48-120 Hz. Otherwise, you will have to settle for a QHD+ LCD panel 31-144Hz.
Please note, the three models in the LG Gram Pro range still share a few characteristics:
- Up to 32 GB of RAM
- 256 GB, 1 TB or 1 TB SSD
- Two USB-A
- Two USB-C Thunderbolt 4
- An HDMI 2.1 port
- A Full HD webcam with facial recognition
LG Gram Book, the new kid
To finish with the 2025 Gram range, LG has added a brand new model: the Gram Book. Its objective is simple: lower certain sliders to offer a more accessible ultraportable computer. We thus end up with the following technical sheet:
- 15.6-inch Full HD 60Hz IPS display
- Intel Core i5
- 16 GB DDR4 RAM
- 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB SSD
- 51 Wh battery
- One USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 and one USB-A 2.0
- Two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2
- An HDMI 2.1
- HD Webcam
AI to follow the trend
Unsurprisingly, generative artificial intelligence is included in the new LG Grams of 2025. For the occasion, the brand has introduced an in-house AI: Gram Chat, taking advantage of LG's EXAONE model in offline mode and a AI in the cloud running under GPT-4o in wifi mode.
It is also noted that Gram Chat is integrated into calendar and messaging applications to help with organization and writing. While Windows 11 struggles to launch Recall, LG competes with Microsoft with the Time Travel function to return to previously performed navigation actions.
Note, the LG Gram Pro 16 with Lunar Lake chip is designed for AI by being defined as PC Copilot+.
Price and release date
At the time of writing, no price or release date has been shared by LG. We therefore expect pricing similar to last year, starting at around €1,500 and exceeding the €2,000 mark, or even €2,500 for the best-equipped variants.
The release date could take place in the following months, probably during the month of March, as was the case last year for the LG Gram 2024. In any case, all this information should be clarified as soon as possible. next week during CES 2025.
