CES 2025 – SwitchBot’s latest robot vacuum cleaner can also bring breakfast to bed

With the Saros Z70 at Roborockwe already thought we had the most astonishing robot vacuum cleaner of CES 2025. That was without counting on SwitchBot and its K20+ Pro. As its name suggests, this new robot succeeds the small K10 and, like them, should be able to vacuum and wash the floors throughout the house thanks to its small format, but it does not stop there. A new accessory called FusionPlatform should make it a multitasking robot.

Vacuum, but also carry, monitor, purify the air…

Supplied in addition to a charging station with automatic emptying, the FusionPlatform is like a small table on casters to which the robot can cling to to drag it around the house. It can be used as is to move objects weighing up to 8kg – laundry basin, meal tray, etc. – or combined with other accessories to offer even more functionality. It is thus possible to add an air purifier, a fan, a surveillance camera or even a tablet stand, and SwitchBot invites users to find many other uses.

The FusionPlatform notably integrates two USB-C ports to power electrical equipment. Several can therefore be mounted on it simultaneously, such as the purifier and the camera which also benefit from dedicated supports. The K20+ Pro is also compatible with most voice assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri), but if it must be able to do much more than maintain the floors of the house with this FusionPlatform, SwitchBot does not evoke the power available on its different ports, nor the capacity of the battery that we imagine inside.

The manufacturer is also not much more verbose about the capabilities of the robot vacuum cleaner which is still the heart of the K20+ Pro. It is just specified that it is equipped with a laser range finder – or Lidar – and a set of lasers to map the house and detect obstacles. Not a word about its vacuum system or washing system. Maybe we'll learn a little more about the show. For the moment, we have no price or release date either, even if several kits are mentioned. SwitchBot also intends to renew the Combo kit with stick vacuum cleaner to connect to the station already proposed with the K10+ Pro. An interesting robot, but still very mysterious overall.
