Samsung presents its automatic and AI-boosted translation for TV
If CES 2025 officially begins tomorrow, Tuesday January 7, 2025, the various players in the show are not necessarily waiting for this date to provide a whole bunch of information. This is particularly the case for Samsung, which is taking advantage of the anticipation of the famous high-tech show to reveal various major additions to its televisions. Thus, since artificial intelligence is in fashion, the South Korean manufacturer is today announcing the addition of several major features for its televisions, such as the possibility of benefiting from real-time translation or the full integration of Samsung Food.
Live Translate and Samsung Food on TV
Let's start with Live Translate : this function is not new. Indeed, it was announced for the very first time in early 2024, as part of the new artificial intelligence features implemented in the Galaxy S24. The goal is simple: to enable real-time translation of videos in more than 13 different languages. After smartphones, it is therefore the turn of Samsung televisions to benefit from a similar function, although less complete: for the moment, only 7 languages can benefit from Live Translate translation on TV.
Note also that this is not the only function linked to artificial intelligence to be added to Samsung televisions: Samsung Food is also entitled to it. Behind this name, the possibility of finding the recipe for a dish discovered in a film or documentary for example. So, if you are watching a culinary series and want to have direct access to a way to perform a particularly appetizing dish, this function will act as an assistant in obtaining the necessary ingredients. Overall, the Samsung Food application benefits from an overall improvement (even on Smartphone), since it can now find you recipes based on what you have in your fridge (and make you a shopping list if you need additional ingredients). All that remains is to show off your culinary talents: because if the idea of being able to reproduce a dish seen on television may be attractive, you will still have to be able to recreate it afterwards!
