Xiaomi Mix Flip 2: a folding smartphone ready to crush Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 7

Competition is growing in the folding smartphone market and Samsung does not seem ready to revolutionize its formula. However, other brands have ideas in mind and the rumors are promising great things. Xiaomi's Mix Flip 2, for example, should promise an excellent step forward for the clamshell format.

The leaker Kartikey Singh indicated on January 5, 2025 that this second generation should have a 5600 mAh battery. A notable bonus knowing that that of the Mix Flip was 4780 mAh, while the battery of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 peaks at 4000 mAh. Our viser test of October 2024 nevertheless showed that its autonomy was less (14 h 2 min compared to 19 h 8 min).

Note that the Chinese brand could compensate for this defect with another functionality: 67 W wired fast charging. Its reuse on the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 would thus be a great selling point compared to the 25 W power of the Galaxy Z Flip.

On the Samsung side, the information does not announce any changes for the moment in terms of battery. A capacity similar to that of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 would therefore be more than likely. We can nevertheless hope that the Exynos 2500 chip from the manufacturer will be able to improve autonomy thanks to further optimization.

All this seems to promise a great battle in 2025 between South Korea and China in the folding flip smartphone segment.
