CES 2025 – Eureka's next robot promises to better detect liquids with its infrared vision
Eureka pleasantly surprised us with its J15 Pro Ultra last year, and an even better version should see the light of day in 2025: the J15 Max Ultra. This model, not entirely new therefore, will retain the main characteristics of the 2024 model while making some improvements, notably through version 2.0 of the IntelliView AI system.
Color and infrared vision
The IntelliView AI system is responsible for giving “sight” to Eureka’s robots. The first version consisted of a camera surrounded by lasers and flashes to capture clear images day and night and give them to analysis by an AI trained to recognize not only objects, but also liquids. The robot should thus be able to adjust its trajectory and its cleaning parameters automatically, but, if there is one function that disappointed us during the test of the J15 Pro Ultra, it was this one.
IntelliView AI 2.0 uses the same elements by adding infrared vision. This technology generally used in the dark – on surveillance cameras for example) will also be used during the day, in addition to color vision, and should allow the robot to distinguish textures and not just surfaces that reflect light. . Even transparent liquids could thus be detected, and therefore cleaned more effectively. Eureka also mentions more precise object detection.
A motorized arm for the side brush
The J15 Max Ultra would therefore not only be better at avoiding obstacles. The new version of the IntelliView system would also indirectly benefit its washing function. And the aspiration would also be entitled to some improvements, a little more direct. Eureka announces increased power – 22,000 Pa announced against 16,200 – and adds a motorized arm to allow the robot to deploy its side brush in corners (SweepExtend); a feature that is increasingly widespread on the market and which is a continuation of what the J15 Pro Ultra already offered with its mop sliding on one side (ScrubExtend). Finally, the battery will increase from 5200 to 6400 mAh.
The J15 Max Ultra should arrive in June with the same station as the Pro Ultra version, and a recommended retail price of $1299 which will probably be converted to €1299. A more affordable model should also be launched under the name J15 Ultra in March. It will be a little less powerful (19000 Pa) and without SweepExtend.
