CES 2025 — Reolink’s Duo 3 camera now available in WiFi version
Reolink did not just launch — or complete — its range of Altas battery cameras at CES. He also took the opportunity to launch a WiFi version of the Duo 3. The dual-sensor camera and 180° field of view should therefore be a little more easy to install, while retaining the other characteristics of the 2024 model. The latter works in Power over Ethernet (PoE) and we have already tested it: it received an excellent 5-star rating.
Wi-Fi 6 for simplified installation
The arrival of a WiFi version, and more precisely WiFi 6, therefore seems to us to be good news, even if it does not completely eliminate cables – when will there be a battery version? The Duo 3 WiFi will have to be connected to the power supply, but it is still a little simpler to implement than PoE which certainly allows data and power to be routed via a single cable to the camera, but requires an upstream PoE injector.
For the rest, nothing should change. The Duo 3 WiFi keeps the two 8 Mpx sensors and assembles their images to create just one, 16 Mpx with 180° vision. WiFi allows you to monitor what's happening in front of the house live from your smartphone and be alerted when the camera detects something, while a microSD slot allows it to record events for later playback. The recognition of people, animals and vehicles are of course still included too, as is the MotionTrack function which traces movements on an image… only available by email however.
The new Duo 3 is available today. It is launched at the recommended retail price of €189.99 with an introductory offer allowing you to save 30 euros until the end of the month.
