The announcement of the arrival of the Asian drone brand in the bicycle market and more precisely in that of electrically assisted mountain bikes may have surprised more than one observer. And this is all the more true since DJI has not just put its name on pre-existing products, quite the contrary, even since the company has developed an entire ecosystem around an in-house motorization, the motor Avinox.

This stands out for its power and torque superior to what Bosch offers for example which is a benchmark today: the DJI motor can reach 850 W in peak and even 1000 W in boost with a torque of 105 Nm (120 Nm boost). DJI has also designed the batteries that go with it: 35.9 V accumulators taking place inside the diagonal tube of the frame. Everything is controlled via a 2-inch Oled touch screen connected for increased customization from a smartphone and an application. It also includes 4G connectivity and a GPS chip.

The Amflow PL is the first model equipped with this new generation of engine. This is a mountain bike designed around a full suspension carbon frame offering 160mm of travel at the front and 150mm at the rear.

It is available in two versions, the normal version and the Pro version which is distinguished by its more prestigious and lightweight components. We find a Fox 36 Factory front suspension, a wireless SRAM transmission and even carbon rims.

For the French market, they will both be offered, at a price of €6,499 and €9,999 respectively, therefore very high-end in both cases. Note that in France, only the largest battery capacity is present, i.e. 800 Wh. The small 600 Wh battery was not retained. Thus equipped, the Amflow PL can offer attractive autonomy. As a bonus, the bikes will be accompanied by the rapid charger (from 20 to 80% in just 80 minutes) and a complete tool set, since we find a torque wrench to torque the different components, a particularly important element with a carbon frame, and a high pressure pump to precisely adjust the shock absorber.
