Eufy Clean E20: the 3-in-1 robot vacuum cleaner that stands out
Even if they are increasingly sophisticated and efficient, robot vacuum cleaners cannot constitute a vacuum solution in their own right and must coexist with another vacuum cleaner (broom or sled) to clean baseboards, walls or various floors. To address this issue, Eufy is unveiling its Clean 20 at CES, an all-in-one vacuum cleaner, providing the services of a robot vacuum cleaner, a stick vacuum cleaner and a hand vacuum cleaner.
Let's start with the robot vacuum cleaner: this one accommodates inside its chassis, the hand vacuum cleaner that it takes on the go with it when it navigates around the house. Nestled in the bowels of the robot, the latter is not covered by a hood, which is relatively surprising from a design point of view. In robot vacuum mode, the suction power is limited to 8,000 Pa when it increases to 30,000 when the E20 is converted into a stick or hand vacuum cleaner. Let us remember once again that suction power does not necessarily make a good device. It is the combination of several elements such as the navigation system, the design of the brush or even filtration which can play a role in suction efficiency.
To find its way, the E20 relies on a trio of lasers (located on the top, front and one side of the robot) which should allow the device to avoid “15mm obstacles“. Eufy being an Anker brand specializing in batteries, the robot vacuum cleaner is therefore supposed to hold the charge for several hours. The manufacturer announces a comfortable autonomy of 3 hours and a charging time of 2 and a half hours.
Skipping a washing system (you will not find any pads or vibrating mop), the Eufy Clean 20 is intended solely for vacuuming floors. This is the reason why the automatic emptying station only has one dust collection container (350 ml). This station also accommodates a small crevice tool but unlike theEcovacs Deebot T30S Combo Completeit cannot support the telescopic tube which will then have to be hidden in a cupboard, unless you purchase an optional wall support. This is also not a bad thing for maintaining a compact emptying station. The stick vacuum cleaner is of a configuration that could not be simpler: it integrates a cyclonic filtration system and a motorized brush, everything that is most ordinary.
Versatile as can be, the Eufy Clean E20 therefore stands out as a very complete and accessible cleaning solution. For the moment, it is only available on the US market at a price of $499.99 (pre-order on the Eufy website with a $50 discount. It will then be available from February 10 on Amazin at the price of $549.99 Count on us to watch carefully for its release in our regions.
