Legion Go S vs Claw 8 AI+: two PC consoles that hope to shake up portable gaming
Leaks and leaks are commonplace in the video game industry. So we already know practically everything about the next consoles – laptops from Lenovo and MSI.
However, until now, if we knew that the successor of the Legion Go, the Legion Go S, would use Steam OSValve's software intended to simplify the use of the platform imagined by Gabe Newell, Lenovo tells us that a Windows version will also be marketed. Pleasant surprise, despite a muscular technical sheet, this Windows version would only be sold for €629 and should be available during the month. You will have to wait a bit to see the SteamOS version arrive (April 2025 according to information gleaned by our national Diogo) for a slightly lower price, due to the absence of a Windows license.
We should see head-on opposition with the MSI Claw 8 AI+ which should hit the shelves in mid-January, that is to say almost tomorrow. The bill is nevertheless much higher, since you will have to shed €900 to be able to afford it. For this price, the Taiwanese manufacturer promises satisfactory autonomy (if not gargantuan) since we are talking about 4 hours of play on large AAA productions: a feat made possible by an XXL battery and the use of Lunar Lake architecturevery energy efficient. Remember that, for the moment, this type of console – portable PC rarely exceeds 90 minutes of autonomy for the most demanding titles.
The two machines will nevertheless have a lot to do at the start of the year, because, let's not forget, Nintendo remains in ambush and should give “very soon very soon soon within a few days it will arrive in not long” news of its next console, the one we call without really knowing if it is even relevant, the Switch 2.
