Fires in Los Angeles: Fallout, Hacks, Grey's Anatomy… Here is the list of impacted series
Hollywood is on fire. If the expression has long been metaphorical, today it must sadly be taken in the literal sense, because since Tuesday forest fires amplified by violent winds have been overwhelming the city of Los Angeles and its region, causing devastation.
A disaster which inevitably has an impact on the American capital of entertainment, and which has thus caused the cessation of production of numerous series. Fallout, Grey's Anatomy, Abbot Elementary… We take stock of all the affected programs.
12,000 hectares ravaged
If the studios are not directly threatened by the flames, the air quality has become particularly dangerous, hence the interruption of many productions. NBCUniversal has indicated that it is pausing the filming of its series Hacks, Loot, Ted, Suits: LA And Happy's Place.
While Amazon had already announced yesterday the cessation of filming of season 2 of FalloutCBS Studios for its part stopped those of NCIS, NCIS: Origins, After Midnight, Poppa's House And The Neighborhood.
Warner Bros. stopped filming his series Abbott Elementary, All-American as well as Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage. And Disney did the same thing for Doctor Odyssey, Grey's Anatomy and the show Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Many events have also been canceled or postponed, such as film premieres which were to take place in Los Angeles, or the end of the nomination period for the next Oscars.
Finally, the FilmLA agency which issues the city's filming permits, declared that “the Los Angeles County Fire Department has specifically ordered that all permits issued for filming in the communities of Altadena, La Crescenta, La Canada/Flintridge and the City of Pasadena be revoked.”
We do not yet know whether these production shutdowns will force channels and broadcasters to postpone the release of their series. But this question seems trivial given the scale of the disaster.
This Wednesday, the results were 12,000 hectares of land affected, more than 1,500 houses and buildings destroyed, 5 dead and 100,000 residents displaced in the neighborhoods of Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Sylmar, Pasadena, and Santa Clarita.
