Among the upcoming projects in the famous galaxy far, far away, the film Dawn of the Jedi (Or Dawn of the Jedi in French) by James Mangold will attempt to apply in a slightly more radical way the recipe unsuccessfully attempted by the series The Acolyte : a leap back many years compared to the Skywalker saga, to better distance ourselves from it.

To the media MovieWebthe director of Logan, Indiana Jones and the Clock of Destiny and more recently A complete strangerdeclared:

The film will take place 25,000 years before all known Star Wars films. It's an area and a playground that I've always wanted to explore and that inspired me when I was a teenager. I don't want to be handcuffed by a story so vast that it becomes almost immovable, and you can't please anyone.

For him, it is the enemy of narrative art and emotion.

An original and epic story

Due to his age, Mangold is not referring to the comics here. Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi from Dark Horse Comics, published from 2012. His feature film, which should not be inspired by it, will nevertheless be centered on the origin of the Force and the very beginning of the Jedi. According to previous statements by the man, his work will thus have an epic and biblical tone like The Ten Commandments.

Remember that screenwriter Beau Willimon (House of Cards, Andor) is working with Mangold on the script for Dawn of the Jedi. If the project comes to fruition (many Star Wars projects have been abandoned during development), see you in a few years to see the result!
