In addition to its dual-lens Tapo surveillance cameras, TP-Link also presented a certain Tapo C4086B at CES. This model, also designed for outdoors, is certainly a little less impressive, but still promises 4K images and, above all, color night vision without using projectors. Instead, the camera uses a technology called ColorPro Night Vision. This combines a large sensor (for the video surveillance market in any case) of 1/1.8” with a large aperture f/1.0 lens as well as a good dose of AI.

The formula is reminiscent of the ColorX technology found in particular on the Argus 4 Pro of Reolink and, as with this one, a little light should still be necessary for the “magic” to work. The demonstration images are nevertheless impressive and the camera is also motorized to follow movements over 360°, while artificial intelligence is provided to recognize people, vehicles and animals and filter alerts.

For now, the launch date and price of the Tapo C4086D remain to be confirmed.
