Star Wars Ahsoka (Disney+): a Game of Thrones actor joins the cast of season 2

The return ofAhsoka becomes clearer. While we recently learned that the filming of the second season of the Star Wars series is not expected to debut until next summerthe program Disney+ is slowly refining its cast.

Indeed, according to journalist Jeff Sneider, Lucasfilm found a new actor to play Baylan Skoll after the death of Ray Stevenson, in the person of Rory McCann.

We best know Rory McCann for his role as Sandor “The Hound” Clegane (“The Hound” in original version) in the series Game of Thronesbut he also appeared in the films Gladiator II, Hot Fuzz And Jumanji: The Next Level. After Westeros, the British actor is preparing to explore a galaxy far, far away.

McCann will therefore reprise the role of Baylan Skoll. In the series Ahsokathis former Jedi Knight turned mercenary had survived Order 66, and was one of the few to know the true identity of Darth Vader. He finds himself in the heroine's path when she tries to stop Morgan Elsbeth's plans on the planet Seatos.

In the first season ofAhsokathe role of Baylan Skoll is played by Ray Stevenson. The famous actor Titus Pullo in the series Rome and Volstagg in the films Thor of the MCU, unfortunately died in May 2023, a few months before the series aired.

His replacement was therefore eagerly awaited, especially since the character of Baylan Skoll revealed interesting potential and promised to delve into all the mythology surrounding the Jedi and the origins of the Force. Let's see how this translates into season 2.
