After Netflix, it's Disney+'s turn to tighten the screws on account sharing in France. The platform has in fact just carry out its previous announcementsthus preventing connections to the same account in different households.

Reported this January 13, 2025 by Allopackage in a blog post, the Walt Disney Company's new policy specifically targets devices that are not part of the household and do not share the same IP address.

Faced with this message, the SVOD platform offers several choices: check that the new device is indeed part of the household via a code sent by email, disconnect or create a new subscription.

Alloforfait also talks about another message, this time mimicking what we know from Netflix: “This TV does not seem to be part of the household Disney+. To bypass this message and watch Disney+, the first solution is to inform your account that you are on vacation, while the second consists of resetting your home location. One last step obviously remains: taking out a new subscription.

“If you're tempted to say you're traveling or regularly update your household, be aware that Disney has already planned for this and indicates that these steps may be limited”alerts the media. This prevents any trickery by users to re-share their Disney+ account.

For those who are very disappointed with this new policy applied in France by the platform, please note that the subscription with advertising is currently at €1.99 per month for 12 monthss. Please note, the offer ends very soon: January 21, 2025.
