The Witcher: Geralt of Rivia returns in a new Netflix film
Fans of The Witcher who are impatiently awaiting the return of the series Netflix in 2025 will have something to eat from February 11 with the new animated film The Witcher: Sirens of the Abyss. Besides, those who played video games The Witcher may recognize the voice of Geralt of Rivia in the trailer for this feature film.
The original Witcher
It is in fact Doug Cockle, the actor who lends his voice to the Witcher in the video game franchise The Witcher who once again embodies the character in this animated film written by two screenwriters from the Netflix series formerly worn by Henry Cavillnamely Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin.
Produced by the showrunner of The Witcher, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, this film also brings together other talents from the live-action series. Anya Chalotra takes over the role of Yennefer for this animated chapter, just like Joey Batey who once again plays the character of Dandelion.

Back to the days of season 1 of The Witcher
This animated film takes place during the first season of the series The Witcherand more precisely between episodes 5 and 6. According to the official synopsis, the plot sees Geralt find himself embroiled in a centuries-old conflict between humans and the Sea People when he is recruited to investigate a series of attacks in a coastal village.
“He will need to rely on his friends, old and new, to solve the mystery before hostilities between the two kingdoms lead to all-out war,” continues the summary of the film.
This story is based on the short story A small sacrifice by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, whose book saga The Witcher inspires the series. He also serves as a creative consultant on this animated film.
The Witcher: Sirens of the Abyss is directed by Kang Hei Chul, who previously served as a storyboard artist on the anime The Witcher: The Wolf's Nightmareand it is Studio MIR, the South Korean animation studio already working on this previous film, which was responsible for the animation of this new opus.
