Did you know? At Yamaha, we already find electric scooters. Called Neo's, these 50cc equivalents are designed to provide daily transport for city dwellers. Three versions are available to consumers in 2025, including a new one called Yamaha Neo's Core. The latter is equipped with a motor with a nominal power of 2.3 kW (2.5 kW peak, or 3.4 horsepower at 400 rpm). Torque peaks at 136 Nm once 50 rpm is reached.

Offered at the price of 2,699 eurosit will integrate two high-density removable lithium-ion batteries (50.4 V/19.2 Ah) in order to cover the theoretical distance of 68 km. Recharging the battery from 0 to 100% would take 8 hours (ouch) according to the manufacturer, and going from 20 to 80% only 4 hours. Fortunately, this type of machine is only used for short journeys.

A practical and accessible scooter for everyday use

Designed for active city dwellers, the Neo's Core focuses on autonomy adapted to daily journeys. Yamaha wanted to simplify users' lives by allowing them to recharge without constraints. The scooter also stands out for its clever storage space under the saddle, perfect for a helmet, shopping or everyday objects.

With this new model, Yamaha is enriching its electric range and responding to a growing demand for greener and more economical urban mobility. It remains to be seen whether it will find its audience in France, where sales of two-wheelers unfortunately declined last year.
