You (Netflix): a release date and a nostalgic teaser for season 5
Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) will soon be back on Netflix for one last killing spree! The 10 episodes of the final season of You will in fact be broadcast from April 24, as revealed by a first teaser which returns to the bloody journey of the most popular killer of the streaming platform.
Back to basics for Joe
As already indicated at the end of season 4 of YouJoe returns to New York in the final season of the series based on the novels by Caroline Kepnes. And according to Badgley's statements to Tudumbring back the series where it all began “helps anchor her in what she needs to have a spectacular conclusion.”
As a reminder, You follows the character of Joe Goldberg, a man who harasses and kills the women he falls in love with. His search for true love began in New York in the first season of the series before taking him to Los Angeles, then the suburbs of San Francisco and finally to London in season 4.
This season then ended with Joe's return to New York with his new partner, Kate (Charlotte Ritchie). But it seems that season 5 sees the ghosts of his past catching up with him.
“We always said we would stop after five seasons and in a perfect world we would bring Joe back to New York,” said series co-showrunner Michael Foley.
He continues: “We're thrilled that Joe came home a very different person than we saw in Season 1. This dichotomy of old and new lies at the heart of our latest story for Joe. “

In these new episodes, Joe crossed paths with Bronte, a young woman played by Madeline Brewer (The Handmaid's Tale) who will work in the killer's new bookstore and make him reconsider his easy life.
Joe will also have to deal with Teddy Lockwood (Griffin Matthews, The Flight Attendant), her sarcastic but loyal brother-in-law, and her twin sisters-in-law Raegan and Maddie Lockwood (both played by Anna Camp, Pitch Perfect), who could prove to be formidable adversaries.
Other new characters will populate this fifth season of Youand familiar faces will reappear too because as Badgley indicated: “There's a lot left unresolved in Joe's past.”
