Elon Musk wants to resurrect this once (very) popular social network
Elon Musk therefore has an opportunity to relaunch Vine. If TikTok is entitled to a reprieve, a sword of Damocles still hangs over the head of the Chinese application. As a reminder, the platform allowed you to post short 6-second videos.
Elon Musk's decision is bold when we know that TikTok and Instagram dominate the short video market. But the billionaire has never hidden his ambition for “all-in-one app” with messaging or payments or TV shows.
This is not the first time that Elon Musk, qualified as “tyrant” by Sam Altman, head of OpenAIevokes the return of Vine. In 2022, the man at the head of X published a survey on this same social network to ask users if they wanted his return.
According to reports, Vine's code asks “a lot of work” to be put back into service. But in the event of resurrection, the platform could compete with TikTok by integrating into X.
