In Angers too, students can train in PSSM! The next sessions will take place in March 2025 and others will follow.

The training aims to improve knowledge of mental health, in order to better respond to people with mental disorders and reduce stigma. It also provides the general public with the skills needed to help people who are developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Finally, this training helps reduce attitudes that reinforce stereotypes and help people recognize, understand and react to signs of mental illness.

MHFA training is an interactive workshop that teaches participants to recognize the signs that someone may be developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis, and how to give first aid and direct you to the appropriate professional resources. The training focuses on the practical application of an action plan that is easy to remember and apply.

MHFAs do not teach participants to become caregivers or therapists, but provide them with the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to provide effective first aid. No special skills are required. However, we advise you to postpone this training if you are experiencing or have just experienced a painful life event impacting your mental health or that of those around you.

You must participate in the training on both days to obtain your certificate. The location of the training will be specified to you when you register.
