iPad Air M3: the new model would arrive in spring 2025
The iPad Air could arrive sooner than expected, with an M3 chip under its hood. According to Bloombergin particular, Apple would prepare its release in early 2025 – probably in March or April. An arrival without any real surprise, but the idea that it is equipped with the M3 chip is a little extra that intrigues.
The M3 chip at the heart of the update
Since the introduction of the M1 and M2 chips on the iPads, it was almost obvious that Apple was going to continue this trend for its devices. The M3 should offer even more impressive performance – notably thanks to its 3 nanometer engraving – which would allow greater processing power and better energy efficiency.
Other improvements expected
While it's not yet clear whether the iPad Air will receive this chip before or after the Pro models, other changes are also on the table. One of the most interesting additions might be a new Magic Keyboard. It would be specially designed for the iPad Air, with improvements over the current version, such as the addition of a row of function keys, which would bring it closer to models intended for the iPad Pro. News that will delight those who use it in productivity mode.
Other rumors speak of a 90 Hz screen, a real plus for the fluidity of the display, especially for navigation, games or watching videos. Better screen brightness, as well as support for Wi-Fi 7are also possible improvements, which would optimize connectivity and display quality.
With these improvements, the iPad Air could therefore get closer to the Pro models while maintaining a more affordable price. Currently, the iPad Air 2024 is offered by Apple from €719 for the 11-inch model with 64 GB of storage. In comparison, the iPad Pro 2024starts at €1,219 for the 11-inch model with 128GB of storage, a notable difference of €500.
