WhatsApp: it will soon be possible to link your account to Facebook and Instagram
With this global integration of Whatsapp with all Meta services, users will now be able to share their WhatsApp status as Stories on Instagram and Facebook, eliminating the need to post multiple times. In doing so, users will also be able to sign in to multiple apps with the same account thanks to the SSO (Single Sign-on) feature, which essentially allows you to use your Facebook account information to sign in to WhatsApp, for example.
First introduced in 2020, the Meta Account Center is therefore drastically enriched by the addition of WhatsApp, but this will not be the only novelty planned by Meta in the field. For example, Meta plans to add additional features to the Account Center, such as the ability to manage avatars, Meta AI stickers and Imagine Me creations. This generally signals an end to the relative independence that has been benefited WhatsApp since its acquisition by Meta in 2014: until now, the instant messaging service had remained outside of any standardization with the other services of the American giant.
Note also that Meta plans the integration of WhatsApp into the ecosystem on a global scale, however it will take a few months before global availability. When the integration is available to you, you will see the option appear in WhatsApp settings. To conclude, Meta provides an important clarification: WhatsApp messages and calls will remain end-to-end encrypted if you choose to connect through the hub, despite this major change in the use of the instant messaging service.
