The price of Canal+ will ultimately not increase.

Last December, Canal+ subscribers received an email informing them of the increase in the price of their monthly subscription of €2 upon renewal in January 2025. However, for a few days, certain customers have received a new email to tell them that sending the previous message was an error. “technical error”.
No increase in sight, ultimately
However, there was nothing to be more surprised than that by this announced price increase, while almost all streaming platforms regularly increase their prices (including Netflix very recently), and that Canal+ recently revised its formulas.
Fortunately, this is (for the moment) not yet the case as this backpedaling shows, with this email sent to its customers. And if this explanation may seem a little light, the main thing is there: “your offer remains unchanged and your subscription will continue under the same conditions as currently, in particular price and duration.“

The most suspicious might think that this is in fact a change of heart by Canal+, claiming a technical error. The encrypted channel may have been scalded by numerous requests for early termination following this announcement of a price increase.
It may also be a case of a real price increase coming soon, and that the December email is gone too soon. The future will tell us.
In any case, there is no point in making assumptions at the moment, the main thing is that, for the moment in any case, subscribers can continue to enjoy their Canal+ subscription at the same price as before.
