Created on the initiative of Nikon France in 2009, the Nikon Film Festival has established itself today as one of the essential events for many videographers and filmmakers in France but also internationally. For Nikon, this competition encourages video creation and promotes the emergence of new talents through a unique concept: allowing everyone to create and distribute a short film for free.

The mechanics are relatively simple. For each edition, the challenge is to make one or more short films of 2 minutes 20 on a given theme, nothing more. The choice of the constraint of 2 minutes 20 can be explained in order to maintain creative freedom while minimizing the technical constraints which could limit its accessibility.

Nikon Film Festival 2025: nearly 3,000 films in competition.

A superpower, the theme for 2025

A fine jury

On the jury side, this edition is chaired by the actress and director Noémie Merlant who was rewarded during the 2016-2017 edition with the Canal+ prize and her film Je suis #unebiche. She is accompanied by Kyan Khojandi, Anaïde Rozam, Julien De Saint Jean, Laetitia Dosch, Karidja Touré, Julien Carpentier, Pascale Faure, Jacques Ballard and finally Alexandre Dino.

Among the many distinctions, there is the very important public prize. To vote, it's very simple and it happens on [link src=”https://www.festivalnikon.fr/” target=”blank”]the official website of the festival.
