WhatsApp: multiple accounts finally arrive on iOS

In October 2023, Meta added a welcome feature to the Android version of WhatsApp: the ability to use multiple accounts within a single application. Since then, iOS users can only see that their version of the instant messaging application is seriously behind in this area. But the wait is normally finally over soon.

A feature still in beta

As is often the case, this upcoming arrival was discovered in a beta version of the application, namely 25.2.10.70. The deployment date within the general public version of the instant messaging app on iOS therefore remains unknown for the moment. However, you shouldn't have to wait too long before this functionality, already offered on Android for many months, is finalized for iPhones. However, those in a hurry can join the TestFlight program to try it now.

Unsurprisingly, multi-account management on iOS looks identical to that on Android. Especially practical for users with several telephone numbers, personal and professional for example, this functionality will allow you to easily alternate between two accounts within a single application. This will definitely be easier than juggling different versions of WhatsApp or multiple phones.

Contacts, settings, discussions and notifications will of course be separated between accounts. Adding a second account should also happen as on Android, namely via a QR Code to be scanned after having defined your device as “main”.
