
Android 15: The February update is there with corrective for Bluetooth and Android Auto
Google has just deployed the February security update to Android 15and if you have a pixel smartphone, it's time to take a look in your settings to install it. In addition to the usual fixes, this update improves Bluetooth connectivity and solves problems related to Android Auto.
Safety strengthening
This update corrects no less than 48 vulnerabilities, including a flaw zero-day Already used, allowing an authenticated local attacker to raise his privileges by using an error in calculating the size of the video stamp.
Among the fixes, we note the resolution of 24 safety flaws dated February 1, 2025 and 23 additional February 5. Some of these faults were critical, including the CVE-2024-53104, which would have already been exploited in a targeted manner.
An additional fix has been applied to Pixel devices to strengthen their safety.
Connectivity improvements
The update improves Bluetooth connectivity and solves problems linked to Android Auto. In particular, it corrects an audio output problem under Android Auto which could arise under certain conditions. Moreover, The latest Pixel models (9, 9 pro, 9 pro XL and 9 Pro Fold) benefit from a corrective for Bluetooth connection concerns with certain accessories.
Google has also deployed an identity verification function, nicknamed “identity verification”, which limits access to certain features and sensitive parameters when the user is not in one of the places of trust previously configured. In this case, he is asked to identify with his fingerprint sensor or facial recognition.
