Caselani Type-Ami: When the Citroën Friend takes itself for a type H
Despite many available personalization accessories, it can be difficult to differentiate your friend from another. It must be said that the Citroën electric quadricycle imposes a single body of bodywork, which will also evolve with its restyling. To distinguish yourself, it is already possible to opt for the cousin Fiat Topolinowhich puts on its neo -retro look, but the Italian coachbuilder Caselani wanted to go even further.
Beautiful as a truck
Caselani, who has been talking a lot in recent years by offering retro bodywork to Citroën modern utility rooms, notably inspired by Type H fire, wanted to do the same at the smallest model in the range. The type-like is also inspired by type H and abandons all plastic body panels from classic friends. Its monkey fiber bodywork The ancient utility of Citroën with streaks reproducing the sheet of type H.
The front side, with its inspired nose of type H, is different from the rear side, which seems quite logical, but this is not the case on the original friend. Nine body shades are offered, including three metallic paintings.
The interior is unchanged, but Caselani offers an optional imitation leather covering. It covers the central part of the steering wheel and the handbrake and also includes seats. However, the whole does not give off the impression of quality.
For the rest, the friend's technical sheet is unchanged, still made up of a 6 kW (8 hp) electric motor and a 5.5 kWh battery, for a range of some 75 km.
The type-friend, exhibited at the Rétromobile Salon until February 9, 2025, will be marketed in France by Méhari Escape, which already distributes the other Caselani achievements on Citroën base. This Recarrosée version costs from € 13,668, against € 7,990 for the basic model. In Italy, Caselani also offers a complete kit to transform his friend into a type-like, painted or not (respectively 4,200 and 5000 €), but it is not possible to buy it separately in France.
