Termination costs at free increase for all
For a while now, the different FAI has been trying to play on their prices and on the bonuses integrated into their internet offers to attract the barge to them rather than to another. On the other hand, they also try to grab a few euros more discreetly to the right to left to compensate, for example by lowering the duration of the temporary promotion period during a new subscription. Or, as is the case that interests us here, increasing the termination prices.
Free increases its costs for all
Since November 2024, the costs of terminating a Freebox offer have increased from € 49 to 59, but only for new subscriptions made from November 26, 2024, or those operated as part of a move or a change offer. But since this month of February 2025, Free has decided that there would be no more jealous.
It is via the monthly email preventing customers from the availability of their last invoice that they are warned. It is thus indicated: “We inform you that from April 1, 2025, your conditions are evolving: the termination costs of your Freebox subscription contract will be € 59 instead of € 49. We remind you that the price and other conditions of your Freebox offer remain unchanged.»
An increase especially for competition
Fortunately, this increase should ultimately only concern few people. Indeed, first of all Free recalls that it is possible not to pay anything by anticipating (a lot) its termination: “You have the possibility of terminating your contract without any costs and without the right to compensation, by indicating this reason, within 4 months of this notification.“”
Also, and above all, today a termination comes mainly within the framework of a change of ISP. However, the latter generally cover the costs of termination of an old supplier. SFR and Bouygues Telecom cover up to € 100 and orange € 150. What largely cover the € 59 of free, provided of course to make the request and to fill out the necessary form.
