The arrival of a foldable iPhone is no longer in doubt. Scheduled for the end of 2025 or early 2026, the future apple device promised an ultra-fine design, but also notable technical concessions. A recent leak, relayed by @QQ_TIMIMY on X, gives an overview of the characteristics of this revolutionary iPhone.
An refined design to dominate the market?
If we believe these revelations, the foldable iPhone would be one of the finest flexible screen smartphones on the market. Once closed, it would be approximately 9.2 mm thick, or 4.6 mm per shutter. As a comparison, The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6that we had tested, reached 12.2 mm when it is folded and 5.6 mm open. A screen signed Samsung, but a size to review
According to the leak, the internal screen comes mainly from Samsung Display, with Boe as a secondary supplier. It would be made up of two juxtaposed 6.1 inch slabs, which would give a 12 -inch theoretical total diagonal. However, more precise calculations consider this size rather around 8 inches, which would bring it closer to a compact tablet rather than a Ipad Pro 11 inch.
Questionable technical choices
To reach such finesse, Apple would have ignored certain high -end components. The photo module, for example, would be reduced to two rear sensors: a main objective and an ultra-large-angle, without telephoto lens. A choice following the trend of foldable smartphones, often less efficient in photo than their conventional equivalents.
The internal reinforcement would be in aluminum, a compromise between lightness and resistance. Apple would thus avoid stainless steel, too heavy, and carbon, too complex to produce in mass. On the autonomy side, the battery would be around 5,000 mAh, a reasonable figure for a device of this type.
