Technical improvements
Pixel 9a will take the Tensor G4 chip with 8 GB of RAM. Its 5,100 mAh battery, the largest ever seen on a pixel, promises improved autonomy. On the photo side, its main sensor goes to 48 MP, optimized by Google software.
In fact, the Pixel 9a is positioned as a direct competitor of Samsung Galaxy A55 and Nothing Phone (2A). The first, sold at a similar price, has an Exynos 1480 processor, 8 GB of RAM and a 5,000 mAh battery with a 50 megapixel photo sensor (MPX). For its part, the more affordable Nothing Phone offers a Dimensity 7200 Pro processor, 8 GB of RAM, a 5,000 mAh battery and a 50 Mpx sensor.
Faced with these models, the Pixel 9a obviously relies on its software optimization, its monitoring of updates and its photo experience. However, its slightly higher price could make certain buyers hesitate in search of raw power or better value for money.
Its success will depend on consumer perception in the face of ever more aggressive competition.
