Renault aims for a record for efficiency with this electric single -seater
If Renault has already drew a lot from its more or less recent past with the electrical versions of its R5 And 4Lthe concept R17 Electric Restomod X Ora ïto and soon the revival of Twingothe brand is interested in its older productions with its 2025 record.
This single -seater is presented at the Parisian Rétromobile show, where it is exhibited until February 9, alongside a reconstruction of the 40 CV of records which celebrates its centenary this year. And for good reason, the Record 2025 shooting pays him tribute as well as other Renault cars having won speed and endurance records, such as the Nervasport of records of 1934 and the shooting star of 1956.
Like the 40 CV of records, the Record 2025 shooting places its wheels outside its body, but this time with an important fairing. It should reduce the single -seater trail coefficient, which Renault will rework in the bellows in the spring of 2025. The 20 -inch rims are fitted with Michelin tires specially developed for the car.
The cabin is covered with a bubble that opens vertically to take place aboard a real cockpit of fighter plane. Acceleration and braking take place via handles which, like the steering wheel, keep no mechanical connection with the controls they control.
This reduces the mass of the car, co -developed with Automotive Ligier, which weighs 1000 kg. It is a lot for a car, but the mass of the battery is to be taken into consideration. With a capacity of 87 kWh, as much as that of a Scenic e-tech great autonomythis battery cell-to-pay (the cells are directly integrated into the pack, without intermediate modules) still weighs 600 kg.
To attack a record of efficiency
Like her ancestors, the shooting 2025 will began to attack records. However, these will not be speed records, never-contested in modern times, but of efficiency, which Renault will try to win during the first half of the year. Hopefully this serves as standard diamond electric models, often successful in many aspects, but not the most efficient in their category.
