Honor recently updated his Yoyo virtual assistant by integrating the open-source reasoning model Deepseek-R1. This update, available since February for Chinese users of Magicos 8.0 and subsequent versions, promises to make Yoyo smarter and responsive. To benefit from it, users simply have to update their Yoyo application to the 80.0.1.503 or more recent version.
Significant improvements for Yoyo
According to the firm by George Zhao, Deepseek-R1 allows Yoyo to be more efficient. It would understand natural language better, would answer questions more quickly and offer more precise answers. This improvement would therefore make the manufacturer's house assistant more intuitive and capable of providing personalized interactions. Users can ask more complex questions and get more complete answers, thanks to better contextual understanding and improved logical reasoning.
A worried model
Deepseek-R1 is developed by the Chinese startup Deepseek and available under MIT license, which allows free use for commercial and academic projects. However, this technology is controversial. Several countries, including Taiwan and Australia, have prohibited its use due to security concerns. The US government has also launched a model security assessment, citing risks to national security.
Honor and Huawei in the elbow
Honor is not the only one to adopt Deepseek-R1. Huawei has also integrated this technology into its cloud services. This adoption shows the determination of Chinese giants to remain at the forefront of IA innovation, the new marketing argument of our smartphones. However, controversies surrounding Deepseek recall the importance of security and data protection, and European initiatives as Mistral Ai's cat.
