ATH-CC500BT2: Audio-Technica renews its headphones with cartilaginous transmission
Building on the success of the ATH-CC500BT, its first cartilaginous transmission helmet presented in 2022, Audio-Technica puts the cover with a second generation called ATH-CC500BT2. Like the bone conduction, the cartilaginous transmission presents itself as an alternative to listen to music without tips housed inside the auditory duct. However, it is distinguished from the technique democratized by Shokz using the cartilages of the ear to transmit sound, not the bones linked to the inner ear.
If cartilaginous transmission is often privileged to improve the comfort of port in sports training, it is also intended for daily use for bearers wishing that costs the environment to stay attentive.
Cartilaginous transmission, an alternative to traditional formats
The ATH-CC500BT2 headphones take up the design mixing head tower and ear hooks of their elders, but stands out by an optimized design and technological modernization. This iteration first promises intelligible telephone calls thanks to a system of noise reduction by AI (AIVC) capable of isolate our voice of surrounding noises. In addition, through the audio-technica Connect app, the user now benefits from Clear Voice modes in order to better understand the voices of his interlocutors and BGM to broadcast relaxing background. The Limit Sound Leakage function is also there to limit sound leaks in public places.
From an ergonomic point of view, the helmet was reduced to 32 g (against 35 g for the ATH-CC500BT) in order to be forgotten even better, and always benefits from IPX4 certification protecting it against splashes. Audio-Technica also promises improved sound quality thanks to new generation transducers accompanied by technology whose role is to prevent sound damage due to external vibrations.
For the rest, we always count on an autonomy of 20 hours for a single load, a multi -point Bluetooth receiver compatible with the AAC and SBC codecs, as well as compatibility with the Siri and Google assistant voice assistants.
Offering similar sound performance and comfort sensations, cartilaginous transmission should not disorient users accustomed to bone conduction. The transducers not at any time oriented towards the eardrums, these two formats are also well known for suitable for tinnous people.
