Pass from a Windows PC To another can be quite frustrating for users, especially in terms of data transfer. Indeed, Microsoft has never considered it useful to offer a dedicated application of this type, thus forcing users to turn to third -party solutions or to use an external hard drive.

A situation which should finally evolve soon, since traces of a tool of this type have been identified in the latest beta version of the Insider program to Windows 11.

Finally an official app to migrate your data

Discovered by @phantomofearth and relayed by @A_Donglee On Twitter/X This February 17, 2025, we see an application signed Microsoft offering two options: making a backup of your PC on OneDrive or transfer your files to a new PC.

To operate, the two PCs must be connected to the same WiFi network, and coupled using a single -use password. In the event of a cut, the transfer can be resumed where it had stopped.

Visuals “Reconstituted” By informants detail the transfer process step by step, suggesting that development has advanced. For the moment, Microsoft has not communicated about the application, which suggests that its deployment is not planned for several months.

The Windows Insiders program channels should logically be the first to try the tool. It remains to be seen when Microsoft decides to make it available from beta testers, before a deployment with the general public.
