NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 & 5060: their launch promises to be chaotic, the fault of new shortages
Nvidia is about to deploy its new mid -range graphics cards, but their availability may be extremely limited. A recent report, from Taiwan, reveals major obstacles that could complicate the arrival of the RTX 5070 and 5060. Between a production turned upside down by a recent earthquake and mixed performance, these models could disappoint even before their release.
A pressure start -up
RTX 5070 is supposed to appear on March 5, 2025a date that coincides with the launch of Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 AMD. The RTX 5060 and 5060 TI should follow in April, although no official date has yet been confirmed. But the natural disaster shaken Taiwan destroyed a significant amount of wafersfundamental components to the manufacture of graphic fleas. Result: a shortage announced from the sale.
Consequently, although launch dates are announced, the real availability of RTX 5070 TI and RTX 5070 could be limited, and additional delays are not to be excluded.
Performance far from being revolutionary
Beyond these logistical concerns, Nvidia would also encounter technical difficulties. Some models must still be refined because they would not reach the expected performance. It is reminiscent of the delays encountered by the RTX 50 range for laptops, victims of similar problems.

It certainly displays solid performance in play, especially in 1440p and 4K with scaling, but the generational improvement compared to the RTX 4070 TI super remains modest, with an average increase of around 16.6 %.
This limited progression, combined with a launch price close to the € 900, has led some experts to estimate that the card does not offer a sufficiently attractive performance-price ratio. In addition, the removal of the PhysX support in the new cards of the RTX 50 series has aroused criticism because it affects the performance of certain older games depending on this technology.
An uncertain strategy
According to current information, the RTX 5070 and the RTX 5060 could also suffer from a lack of video memory (VRAM), making them less attractive in the face of the ever greedy needs of recent games. RTX 5060 Ti and its 16 GB of VRAM thus appears to be the best alternative for players in the moderate budget.
As for a hypothetical RTX 5050, it is more complicated. NVIDIA would prepare for its release a priori since it has been seen in the listings of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). It could well fill a void left by the absence of GeForce RTX 4050 for office pc, but there is no official of official at this stage.
